Letter to Daughter (Mark Zuckerberg donates $45 billion)

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife announced the birth of their daughter Max as well as plans to donate most of their wealth, or roughly $45 billion, to a new organisation that will tackle a broad range of the world’s ills.
Zuckerberg’s wife, Priscilla Chan, gave birth last week to a baby girl. The couple didn’t put out the news until Zuckerberg posted it Tuesday on — of course —Facebook.
In the same post, Zuckerberg said he and Chan will commit 99 per cent of theirFacebook stock to such causes as fighting disease, improving education, harnessing clean energy, reducing poverty and promoting equal rights. They are forming a new organization, called the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, to pursue those goals.
In a post titled ‘Letter to our daughter’, Zuckerberg wrote:
Dear Max,
Your mother and I don’t yet have the words to describe the hope you give us for the future. Your new life is full of promise, and we hope you will be happy and healthy so you can explore it fully. You’ve already given us a reason to reflect on the world we hope you live in.
Like all parents, we want you to grow up in a world better than ours today.
While headlines often focus on what’s wrong, in many ways the world is getting better. Health is improving. Poverty is shrinking. Knowledge is growing. People are connecting. Technological progress in every field means your life should be dramatically better than ours today.
We will do our part to make this happen, not only because we love you, but also because we have a moral responsibility to all children in the next generation.
We believe all lives have equal value, and that includes the many more people who will live in future generations than live today. Our society has an obligation to invest now to improve the lives of all those coming into this world, not just those already here.
But right now, we don’t always collectively direct our resources at the biggest opportunities and problems your generation will face.
Consider disease. Today we spend about 50 times more as a society treating people who are sick than we invest in research so you won’t get sick in the first place.
Medicine has only been a real science for less than 100 years, and we’ve already seen complete cures for some diseases and good progress for others. As technology accelerates, we have a real shot at preventing, curing or managing all or most of the rest in the next 100 years.
Today, most people die from five things — heart disease, cancer, stroke, neurodegenerative and infectious diseases — and we can make faster progress on these and other problems.
Once we recognize that your generation and your children’s generation may not have to suffer from disease, we collectively have a responsibility to tilt our investments a bit more towards the future to make this reality. Your mother and I want to do our part.
Curing disease will take time. Over short periods of five or ten years, it may not seem like we’re making much of a difference. But over the long term, seeds planted now will grow, and one day, you or your children will see what we can only imagine: a world without suffering from disease.
There are so many opportunities just like this. If society focuses more of its energy on these great challenges, we will leave your generation a much better world.

Amla's frustration after INDvsSA 3rd Test

'We weren't positive at all' - Amla

After "probably three of the toughest days" he had experienced in his Test career, the usually unflappable Hashim Amla was left frustrated.

"The surface was probably the toughest that I have had and the cricket itself was really difficult," Amla said. "Credit to India, they kind of bowled well. Unfortunately, we ended up on the wrong side of this game."

The result in Nagpur ended South Africa's nine-year unbeaten streak in 15 away series, the second-longest unbeaten run in the history of Tests. The 124-run loss also ended a golden South African era that was defined by adaptability away from home. Amla, however, said that even the South African teams that adjusted everywhere from Auckland to Abu Dhabi would probably not have been able to display the same adhesion on the Nagpur turner.

"One consolation would be that the conditions we played in. We haven't experienced this type of challenge before," he said. "I haven't played on this before in my life anywhere away from home so I suppose it's a bit of consolation because it was really challenging and you never know if we had come against this before what would have happened."

Amla stated that the pitch at the VCA Stadium was "a lot more challenging" than the ones he had played on during the previous visits to India. In 2008, Amla scored 159 in Chennai, before striking a double-century in Nagpur two years later. Amla countered Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh during those trips but felt that the two bowlers would have been unplayable on the Nagpur pitch, where South Africa were shot out for 79 in 33.1 overs in the first innings.

"When I first came to India in 2008 and even in 2010, I was facing Anil Kumble, Harbhajan," Amla said. "I think if I had to face them on wickets like this I don't think I would have got any runs either. Facing them here would have been an nightmare."

While Amla acknowledged the current Indian crop as "exceptional in these conditions," he believed the surfaces were more to blame for the strangle that affected both teams. "The wickets have played their part in making it difficult for all the batters. There hasn't been a hundred in the series yet and just a handful of fifties, and that's for both teams. It would be harsh to say this South African team has struggled to score runs. If you look a the Indian team although they are on the winning side, it's been tough for their batters as well."

South Africa's technique and temperament, especially against spin, was questioned but Amla and Faf du Plessis combined well in a stoic second-innings effort. The partnership revived memories of Adelaide and Colombo in its determination but was nowhere near as comfortable.

"I still think we could have got bowled out for 70 or 100 in the second innings. There were so many plays and misses, edges that could have gone to hand. It's easy to say that we could have batted in the first innings how we did in the second innings but I think circumstances were a lot different," Amla explained. "Some balls go to hand, some balls don't go to hand and we scored slowly. I don't think we were as positive."

Amla also felt that South Africa may have turned the tables around had the target been closer to 200 besides calling for a better effort from the bowlers and the fielders.

"If you look at their first innings, I think they were about 30 runs too much from our bowling perspective," Amla said. "I don't think it was a 200 first innings wicket and neither was it a 170. We could have got India out for at least 140 and that would have changed the context of the game."

The South Africa captain, though, may have himself to blame for allowing the hosts get away. On a pitch where spinners thrived, even with the new ball, Amla held back his most attacking option - Imran Tahir. The legspinner bowled only two overs before tea on the first day and was not used until the 25th over of the second innings.

"Imran has a tendency of picking up wickets but leaking runs," Amla said. "That's the type of bowler he is. I found it difficult to use him in the first innings because of him leaking a bit of runs here and there and felt Simon [Harmer] was somebody who could get us a wicket as well as keep it tight."

"And then in the second innings, when you are more than 100 behind you have to find the balance. He picked up five wickets and I know it's easy to ask why I didn't bring him on earlier but if I knew he was going to pick up five, I would have opened the bowling with him. I don't have any regrets because I had a clear idea of what I needed to do. It's not about lack of trust. It's about using your players as efficiently as possible."

Essentially, the Tahir conundrum is a microcosm of how South Africa have approached this series. They were aware of the spin challenge but had little clue about the extent of it. Having seen all and succumbed to it, do South Africa think India went too far to secure the home advantage? "You want to lose honourably and you want to win honourably as well," Amla said. "I can't comment too much on the wickets. Let's leave it at that."

LIFI 100 times faster than WIFI

A  new  type of wireless internet technology has been developed that could provide a connection that's 100 times faster than traditional WiFi.

The tech is called LiFi, and was tested by an Estonian start-up called Velmenni, who are currently trialling it in offices.

LiFi has proved capable of sending data at speeds of up to 1GBps, around 100 times faster than most current Wi-Fi connections.

At speeds like this, albums, high-definition films and even video games could be downloaded in a matter of seconds.

The speed is down to the way in which it transmits data -- by using Visible Light Communication (VLC), data is sent between networks by LED lights that flicker incredibly fast.

The technology does have one major limitation -- because it relies on visible light to work, it can't pass through walls.

However, this makes the network much more secure. The dramatically increased speeds make it a big improvement on current technology for some applications .

PRITHVI-2 MISSILE INDIA

India Successfully Test-Fires Nuclear-Capable Prithvi II Missile
BALASORE, ODISHA:  India has successfully test-fired its indigenously developed nuclear capable Prithvi-II missile, which has a strike range of 350 km, as part of a user trial by the army.

The missile test was carried out from a mobile launcher from launch complex-3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur near here at 12:10 hrs.

"The trial data of the missile conducted by the Strategic Force Command (SFC) shows positive results," said a defence source.

The surface-to-surface Prithvi-II missile is capable of carrying 500 kg to 1,000 kg of warheads and is thrusted by liquid propulsion twine engines. It uses advanced inertial guidance system with manoeuvring trajectory to hit its target.

"The missile was randomly chosen from the production stock and the entire launch activities were carried out by the specially formed SFC and monitored by the scientists of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) as part of training exercise," a defence scientist said.

"The missile trajectory was tracked by DRDO radars, electro-optical tracking systems and telemetry stations located along the coast of Odisha," the source said.

The downrange teams on board a ship deployed near the designated impact point in the Bay of Bengal monitored the terminal events and splashdown, they said.

Inducted into India's armed forces in 2003, Prithvi II, the first missile to be developed by DRDO under India's prestigious IGMDP (Integrated Guided Missile Development Program) is now a proven technology.

Such training launches clearly indicate India's operational readiness to meet any eventuality and also establishes the reliability of this deterrent component of the country's strategic arsenal.

Channel Assignment Strategies

Channel Assignment Strategies
For efficient utilization of the radio spectrum, a frequency reuse scheme
that is consistent with the objectives of increasing capacity and minimizing
interference is required. A variety of channel assignment strategies have been
developed to achieve these objectives. Channel assignment strategies can be
classified as either fixed or dynamic. The choice of channel assignment strategy
impacts the performance of the system, particularly as to how calls are managed
when a mobile user is handed off from one cell to another

In a fixed channel assignment strategy; each cell is allocated a predetermined
set of voice channels. Any call attempt within the cell can only be served
by the unused channels in that particular cell. If all the channels in that cell are
occupied, the call is blocked and the subscriber does not receive service. Several
variations of the fixed assignment strategy exist. In one approach, called the borrowing
strategy, a cell is allowed to borrow channels from a neighboring cell if all
of its own channels are already occupied. The mobile switching center (MSC)
supervises such borrowing procedures and ensures that the borrowing of a channel
does not disrupt or interfere with any of the calls in progress in the donor
cell.
In a dynamic channel assignment strategy, voice channels are not allocated
to different cells permanently. Instead, each time a call request is made, the
serving base station requests a channel from the MSC. The switch then allocates
a channel to the requested cell following an algorithm that takes into account the
likelihood of fixture blocking within the cell, the frequency of use of the candidate
channel, the reuse distance of the channel, and other cost functions.
Accordingly, the MSC only allocates a given frequency if that frequency is
not presently in use in the cell or any other cell which falls within the minimum
restricted distance of frequency reuse to avoid co-channel interference. Dynamic
channel assignment reduce the likelihood of blocking, which increases the trunking
capacity of the system, since all the available channels in a market are accessible
to all of the cells.

Upendra2 Review

Nenu kadu nuvvu the concept of Upendra2.coming to the story line which just moves around the human thinking, how every one in the world behaves by fearing about future, feeling about past and never living present second. The director/hero Upendra reveals the total story just in the beginning and everyone realises in the end. The concept was clear and hits everyones daily activities towards everything.Execution of every scene makes us how we were living and how we had to live. Just few songs but every lyric is excellent nothing goes vulgar or romantic. Interval bang is super how upendra looks was real super.
Once again we can see Upendra's trade mark for different category movies which hits us.......
Go and watch feel a difference from normal commercial, routine, love stories.

Upendra action super, heroine is hot and did her best.

Memories of Beas Tragedy(cost of 24 Engineers life and 1-travel guide)

Memories felt as sweet things of life but, this memory left bitter in 25 life's (24-engineers and 1-travel guide) knowingly and several 100's unknowingly. when i called my friend and had a long chat of 30 minutes about our running college days ,exams , semester holidays , future plannings etc., he finally said they were  going on a tour to North India  in few days  and raised a doubt of tour cancellation because of some faculty problems and so.we will meet after the trip and bye for today. That's the last time i heard his voice .  Now every time i open my phone contact list and seeing his number and i am unable to call him .He is out of coverage area physically , i can't hear his voice , i can't meet him ,i can't i can't i can't what this bloody shit can't feeling ruing my soul .This tragedy left only past sweet memories of him and a unforgettable heart breaking feeling for a lifetime.

25-persons,
25-families,
100's of friends,
1000's of well wishers
only 1 feeling- SORROW
As  friend of a person known from 4 years the sorrow i am having can't  be  expressed correctly .PARENT'S giving birth ,growing them from childhood ,supporting them in everything and not having their lovely children in-front them  is the saddest thing any one can have in their life. Their tears would have left them as if physically their hopes (children) left this world.
A government mistake or over enthusiasm of people took 25 lives away.

Every day  i am thinking that if tour was cancelled ,all the above wouldn't happened .It was a good hope of cancellation but it hadn't come true and changed into a bitter memory.

Lets wish PARENT'S would gain strength , overcome everything that happened and lead a normal life.

One thing -as we are all children of someone please be careful whereever we go, whatever we do .Remember our parents are waiting for us.

Horsley Hills (Hill station Andhra pradesh)

Hi friends do you that the above pictures are from a hill station present in our telugu state Anhra pradesh  .It is profoundly called Horsely Hills( andhra ooty). It is my favorite and regular holiday spot. The hill station is at a height of 4230 feet above the sea level .summer temperatures are just around 22-25 degrees. Best season to visit is winter with 15-20degress temperature ,pleasant climate ,greenery along the road .No one can express that pleasant feeling of joy without a visit. views all around the mountain will be extremely superb and amazing.
From the above pics u can see in the 1st one that rocks where u can feel amazing experience of viewing down the hill ,cooling air touching your face and aerial view of mountain chains. you can have a feel of touching the clouds too..
Horsley Hills is about 120 km from Bengalluru,144 km from Tirupati and about 278 km from Chennai and 23 km Madanapalle is the nearest towns .World Famous Rishi Valley school founded by late Jiddu Krishnamurthy is falls other side of the hills. It is very near from the new Kempegowda International Airport via Chintamani and B Kotha kota route. Nearest Railway station Mulakala Cheruvu. The old name of Horsley Hills was Yenugu Mallamma Konda. According to legend, there used to be a little girl named Mallamma who was taken care of by elephants. She used to heal the tribal people on the hills. When she disappeared suddenly, people thought that she was a goddess and built a temple for her.
Horsley Hills is named after a British officer named W.D. Horsley, the Collector of Cuddapah district. He visited this place around 1840-43 and was impressed by the beauty of the hills and chose this spot for his summer residence. Now the Governor of Andhra Pradesh uses this house as a summer residence and hence this house is called the Governors bungalow.
The narrow road to Horsely Hills is very scenic. It is surrounded with dense growths of eucalyptusjacaranda, allamanda and gulmohara  trees. The major tourist places around Horsely hills are Lake Gangotri, Highview seeing place  Gaalibanda, Environmental park and the Horsley Hills Museum. Horsley Hills is also one of the few places to offer Zorbing in India. Adventure sports conducted are Rapelling and Trekking. The Environmental park known as EEC Centre was built with the help of a hydro geologist and environmentalist from Hyderabad named Balijepalli Venkata Subba Rao, Director of the Center For Resource Education.
Accommodation is available at Harita- a AP tourism initiative. Other smaller private guest houses are available around this. swimming pool, archery and a reasonably well maintained zoo with a few good attractions are also available.
If u have chance take a visit and enjoy.

IPl fixing 3 games...?

The Enforcement Directorate of India (ED), on Friday, conducted raids in New Delhi, Jaipur and Thane and arrested two alleged bookies, Mukesh Sharma and Sukhvinder Singh Sodhi from New Delhi, for their supposed involvement in three different matches of IPL 2015. Another suspect after the investigation, Anil Jaisinghania from Thane, evaded arrest after complaining of ill-health and got himself admitted to a hospital.
"All the leads we have got so far are about big-time bookies who have never been caught. We have strong leads that some matches in the current edition of IPL may have been fixed," said an ED officer. The Source also added that Sharma and Sodhi were big players in the IPL betting scene and that the ED has asked Jaisinghania, a key link to the investigation, to appear before the ED officials in Ahmedabad on Monday.
Those arrested are said to have been routing money from the IPL bets abroad through the betting website betfair.com. An investigation officer added that both Sodhi and Sharma were allegedly involved but could not be cornered in 2013, when the issue of match-fixing in IPL first broke out. "Bookies across the country were in touch with Sharma and Sodhi. We have learnt that the betting amount is remitted out of the country through hawala channels through these two accused," the officer added.
ED officials also recovered documents, INR 6.5 lakh in cash and jewellery from a house belonging to brothers Vineet and Rahul Gangwal. The brothers were said to be in touch with bookies in Bangladesh and Pakistan using Skype. The documents recovered were related to the arrest of Ritiesh Bansal, accused No.16 in the IPL match-fixing case.
IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla told that BCCI were yet to recieve information from the ED's findings and that the board would cooperate with the directorate when needed. "We haven't heard anything from ED yet," Rajiv Shukla said. "As per procedure, they (ED) will get in touch with our ACSU (Anti-Corruption and Security Unit) if they need any details. The ACSU doesn't come under IPL governing council, it reports directly to the BCCI President. If the ED seeks anything from BCCI, we will fully cooperate.

Pakistan want to continue the momentum

International cricket returned to Pakistan after a hiatus of six years and they did well to tick all the right boxes, be it on the field or off it. They would be hoping to carry forward the momentum gained from the five-wicket win in the first T20I against Zimbabwe, when the two teams lock horn once again for the second T20I at the Gaddafi stadium, Lahore on Sunday.
On paper, Zimbabwe are no match for the Asian giants, but Pakistan know very well that their fans all around the world are not just expecting a dominant effort against a weaker opponent throughout the series, but the goal is put forward a team performance that will help distance themselves from the tag of a 'mercurial' team.
Ahmed Shehzad and Mukhtar Ahmed stole the spotlight with the bat, but Pakistan would be hoping for a better effort from their bowlers. Elton Chigambura led from the front for the visitors and he will continue to be the key man for Zimbabwe.
Pakistan:
After a good performance in the 1st T20I, it is highly unlikely that Pakistan will ring in any changes. The young players enjoyed the home conditions and even though comeback man Mohammad Sami proved to be expensive, he took three wickets that should ensure a place for him in the second T20I. Shoaib Malik, on the other hand, had a forgettable comeback with the bat, but did his bit with the ball and finished the game as the most economical bowler from either side. It will be interesting to see whether skipper Shahid Afridi will persist with Malik or will be tempted to give Hammad Azam a go.
Zimbabwe
To their credit, Zimbabwe withstood a good bowling effort from Pakistan to notch up 172 thanks to Hamilton Masakadza and Chigambura, but their bowling effort lacked the edge and Pakistan were never really troubled in the chase. They let the home team score over 100 runs in the first 10 overs and if there is any change in the Zimbabwe playing XI it should be in the bowling department. Tawanda Mupariwa might replace Chris Mpofu, who had a forgettable day on Friday with figures of 3-0-32-0.
