Jayalalitha to take oath as CM on saturday

Jayalalitha meets TN Governor, to take

Jayalalithaa stepped out of her Pose Garden residence in the afternoon and drove straight to Raj Bhavan, about 10 km away. This was her first public appearance in eight months since she was convicted by a Bengaluru court in September last year for amassing wealth disproportionate to her known source of income. The court sent her to imprisonment. Jayalalithaa, however, was acquitted by the Karnatka High Court this month paving way for her come back to the Chief Minister's chair. Supporters shower flower petals as her convoy headed to the Governor's house. The 67--year-old "amma" as she is fondly called by her fans, is expected to be sworn-in with her council of ministers on Saturday, reports said. In a rapid development Chief Minister O Panneerselvam resigned on Friday morning, soon after 144 of the AIADMK's 150 lawmakers met at the party headquarters in Chennai to unanimously elect Jayalalithaa as the leader of the legislature party. Panneerselvam then met the Governor, who accepted his resignation. The Governor then invited Jayalalithaa to form government "at the earliest," and asked her for a list of ministers who will take oath with her.

Call for an End to Caste-based Politics by PM Shri Narendra Modi

PM calls for an end toThe Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today invoked the great poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar to call for an end to caste-based politics. The Prime Minister said that for India to progress, it is essential for eastern India, including Bihar, to progress and catch up with the western part of India. He was speaking at a function in New Delhi, to mark the golden jubilee of two of Dinkar's great works: "Sanskriti ke chaar adhyaay," and "Parshuram ki pratiksha." The Prime Minister recalled a letter written by Shri Ramdhari Singh Dinkar in 1961, in which the poet emphasized that his native state of Bihar must forget caste-based divisions, and work towards a merit-based society. In the letter, Dinkar further said that if the people of Bihar do not rise above caste, public life in the state will decay. The Prime Minister described "Rashtrakavi" Dinkar as a great visionary. He said Dinkar's poems, which were once memorized by thousands, assimilated India's heritage and culture, and
were the best way to understand the essence of India. Shri Narendra Modi also added that there are very few creations, which stand the scrutiny of time, the way Dinkar's writing has. He said Dinkar wanted to light a path, and show the way forward for society, through his writings. The Prime Minister said Dinkar's works have continued to provide the inspiration to achieve and progress, to generations of Indians. CSK Winner of Qualifier-2 (IPL-8)

Michael Hussey scored a fine fifty and put on a good stand with MS Dhoni.
CSK entered 6th time into IPL FINALS

As every fan of chennai super kings and most of Indian fans expected it is CSK who own their qualifier match against RCB to enter into IPL-8 finals to be held in kolkata.
First Dhoni who own toss and gone to field first. As per the expectations of dhoni his bowlers took early wickets and put RCB in a difficult situation.Gayle helped his team by scoring 41(43) but not to his mark.devilliers gone early for just 1 run.Dinesh karthik, sarfaraz scored decent runs but its not enough for them to win against best batting attack of CSK. CSK bowlers bowled extremely well. Ashwin bowled 4 overs by conceiving jst 13 runs and taking a wicket as well. nehra took 3,bravo ,mohit ,raina took 1 wicket each .RCB 139/8(20 overs)

with 140 chase CSK lost early wicket of smith ,hussey and duplessis batted sensibly and hussey made a decent and very helpful 56(46),duplessis gone for 21. Raina out thats duck.....
here Dhoni played his match winning innings and took his team to the mark of win and just missed to have winning shot and gave catch to karthik in the final over of harshal patel.
even though RCB bowlers worked hard and try keep match in hands its not easy for them to save by having just 139.It was a tight match but, the final winner is CSK who enters their 6th IPL finals.lets wait and see who will take IPL-8 cup 2015.

McCullum:IPL won't be an excuse for the 1st Test with England

IPL won't be an excuse: McCullumBrendon McCullum has said the fact several key members of his side had only recently arrived in London from the very different conditions of India could not be used as an excuse come Thursday's first Test against England at Lord's. Six likely members of the New Zealand XI, including McCullum himself, had stints in the Indian Premier League and only set foot in England just days before the first of a two-Test series. "Cold -- 45 degrees in Chennai to 10 degrees outside," said McCullum on Wednesday (May 20) on being asked his views about the difference in conditions. "We are excited, a Test at Lord's is something very few people get the opportunity to play in. It's such an amazing ground, such character. "It's the tradition, the history of the ground. The amount of great players who have played here and been in the dressing room. The crowd is also unique, people talk about the Lord's buzz and it certainly does buzz. It's a wonderful place to play and dream of playing here. "There are challenges coming from the IPL but it was only last year when we went to the West Indies and got 500 in the first innings, so it can work as a positive as well," he added. "It's certainly not an excuse." New Zealand have won four and drawn two of their six Test series since losing 2-0 in England two years ago. But they've won just four of their 52 Tests in England and only two series, in 1986 and 1999. In the 2013 series opener at Lord's, they were competitive until a second-innings collapse saw them skittled for 68, with Stuart Broad taking 7 for 44 in a match England won by 170 runs. "We actually played reasonable cricket in that Test and were then just blown away in the last innings," reasoned McCullum. "But at least we gave ourselves a chance. If, given the same situation, I'd hope we'd fare better. The guys have matured, we've had better performances in the last couple of years." Under McCullum, New Zealand have become renowned for an aggressive approach but the skipper said there was more to their game than being 'gung-ho'. "We earn the right to get ourselves into a position to be instinctive and aggressive," he said. "It's all well and good trying and ending up 50 for 8; you have to earn the right, then you can be entertaining from there." New Zealand, with Tim Southee taking seven wickets, thrashed England during their recent run to the World Cup final, where the Black Caps lost to co-hosts Australia. "Cricket captivated our country in that World Cup," admitted McCullum. "Yes, the results were great but I think it was the manner in which we played the game and the spirit which we played in. That resonated with our public and people around the world, too. "It would be silly of us to try not to feed on the back of that momentum. It is a different form of the game and we have to earn the right again. We created some memories that will last a lifetime." New Zealand will play a two Tests before taking on England in One-Day Internationals and a Twenty20 International.

COOK denies Pietersen ultimatum

Cook denies Pietersen ultimatum Alastair Cook insisted he had issued no ultimatum that led to Kevin Pietersen's ongoing exile from the national side. After Andrew Strauss, the England and Wales Cricket Board's new director of cricket, confirmed Pietersen would remain in the international wilderness, reports emerged that Cook had issued a 'him or me' ultimatum and had threatened to resign if the South Africa-born Pietersen was recalled to the side. Cook, speaking to reporters at Lord's on Wednesday (May 20), said the decision over Pietersen had been taken by Strauss and Tom Harrison, the new ECB chief executive, alone. "There was no ultimatum. I can deny that," clarified Cook. "I don't know quite where that came from. "There is nothing we can do about it as players. The decision has been made, by Andrew Strauss and Tom Harrison," the opening batsman added ahead of Thursday's first Test against New Zealand at Lord's. But although he wasn't a party to the decision, Cook admitted he supported Pietersen's continuing absence from the England team. "I do agree with the decision, yes," he said. "But the decision was made by those two (Strauss and Harrison). That's what their new roles are, and they made that very clear when they were talking to the team. "This thing has gone on for 15 months now, and we've got to start looking forward as a side." Since England's recent 1-1 series draw in the West Indies, Strauss has also presided over the sacking of Peter Moores. "It's been an interesting two weeks," said Cook. "I'm responsible for the team out on the field and the 10 other guys who are going to be with me on another fantastic occasion at a great ground. "We've got to focus on that and all the external stuff is now focused on other people," added Cook, one of several senior England figures criticised in Pietersen's controversial autobiography published last year. "I'll let them do their job and hopefully they'll let me do mine." As for working with Paul Farbrace, Moores's erstwhile assistant, Cook felt it was good to have him as the interim coach. "It's another challenge, to have an interim coach. I think it's my fourth (coach) as a captain over the last two years," he said. "There are always challenges to deal with, and it's great to have Farby here." Strauss, Pietersen's successor as England captain, said a "massive trust issue" prevented the South Africa-born batsman's return, even though he is England's all-time leading run-scorer across all formats. That appeared to contradict comments from Colin Graves, the incoming England and Wales Cricket Board chairman, that a return was possible if Pietersen scored enough runs in county cricket. Unfortunately for Pietersen, and indeed the image of the ECB, Strauss told him he would remain frozen out of England contention shortly after he had scored his maiden first-class triple century during Surrey's County Championship match against Leicestershire at The Oval. Pietersen, currently sidelined with a calf injury, reacted angrily and suggested that his ongoing omission from the side might hamper England's search for a new coach, with Farbrace the only candidate willing to take the job while he was still barred from the international set-up. "He might be the only one who wants to use a team that's not allowed to be at full strength," Pietersen, the only qualified England player the selectors cannot pick currently, told breathesport.com.

Ram Gopal Varma to start movie on Veerappan

Even before filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma's 'Killing Veerappan' has gone on to floors, it has generated enough curiosity. The film will be a sequence of events that eventually led to the assassination of the notorious and most wanted criminal. "In fact Varma was taken aback when he heard the events that led to Veerappan's killing from cops who supervised the shooting. He in fact was bowled over by how the cops sifted and pursed every piece of information meticulously before executing their plan," a source close to Varma says. The source adds that Varma, through the movie, will film chilling facts that led to the killing of the forest brigand. "The planning was such that 20- odd cops who killed Veerappan were unaware of who they were shooting in the first place. Since the forest was his stronghold, he had to be brought out. The way in which the police - Special Task Force chief K Vijay Kumar and NK Senthamaraikannan who is credited with masterminding the intelligenceaspects and coordinating the operation - cornered Veerappan's vehicle (ambulance) and the events preceding it will send chills down the spines of the viewers." Veerappan, one of the most ruthless criminals the world has ever seen, killed more than 800 elephants and 227 people, including 72 police officers. Three state governments of India spent more than Rs 600 crore to catch him. Nearly 1,200 task force official were in search of him in a 16,000 sq km jungle for 15 long years. The source shares that Varma, who has also written the screenplay, will be shooting the film in the languages the characters speak. "The police of Karnataka will speak in Kannada while the Tamil Nadu police personnel will be conversing in Tamil. Veerappan and his aides will be speaking in their mother tongue. In the interests of viewers of other languages, there will be a provision of subtitles. "It will truly be an international experience on the lines of Kathyrn Bigelow's 'Zero Dark Thirty'," the source adds. Varma, who has spoken to Veerappan's daughters besides his wife Muthulaxmi as a part of gathering information on the sandalwood smuggler, will be taking the film to floors this month end. He will be shooting it mostly at real locations, a fact which he admitted to us recently.

CSK and RCB high tension,a must win match for both teams

CSK, RCB in battle for final(22 May) Ranchi: The Qualifier 2 clash here on Friday between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royals Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will not only be a battle between two heavyweight Indian Premier League (IPL) teams but also of high-profile skipper duo of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Kohli succeeded Dhoni as the Indian Test captain after the latter's exit following the third Test match of the Australia series last year. India lost the four-match series 0-2. The two skippers employ a vastly different mode of leadership which adds an intriguing sub-plot to the contest. While Kohli's brash, aggressive, meeting fire-with-fire persona -- and flaunting his high-profile relationship with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma -- often lands him in trouble on-and-off the field, Dhoni is the embodiment of calmness, earning global praise for captaining in a composed manner. Their each move will be as keenly followed as the outcome of the match. CSK will approach the match at the JSCA
International Stadium, the first one at the ground this season, psychologically in a better position after beating RCB in both the group stage matches. The winner of the match will meet Mumbai Indians in the final in Kolkata on May 24. Mumbai beat Chennai in Qualifier 1 by 25 runs on Tuesday. Two-time champions CSK's proven record of winning crunch matches also holds them in good stead. But Friday's match is a one-off game with the current form of the vast array of star players of both teams crucial in determining the end result. The loss against Mumbai was demoralising but Chennai must shake off the disappointment as they are getting another chance at biting the cherry. Meanwhile, RCB are in hot form, beating Rajasthan Royals comprehensively by 71 runs in the Eliminator in Pune on Wednesday night. Their 'holy trinity' of blasters Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have given a good account of themselves in the competition. Besides, Punjab batter Mandeep Singh has provided good support, chipping in with crucial runs at important junctures. They will again look to posting a strong total and then successfully defending it through a combined bowling effort of pacers, led by Aussie Mitchell Starc and spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. CSK need to find a solution to the departure of their batting mainstay, Kiwi Brendon McCullum, who has left the team after the group phase to fulfil his national commitments. His departure, was amply evident in the Eliminator where they failed to chase down a 188-run target. They are, though, not short of batting firepower with Faf du Plesis, Suresh Raina and Dwayne Bravo all having the skill and experience to come good in a knockout match. But it's their tendency to give away runs when under pressure that Dhoni will be more concerned about. Veteran pacer Ashish Nehra has been steady, but he has been a lone fighter without the necessary backing from the rest of the bowlers.
